I thought kidney beans were not allowed on this diet. Sweet potatoes are also starchy, so they are not allowed no? yes? Confused...

Hi Kamaljeet! It really depends on the individual, how far into the diet they are, and the protocol they are following. I was personally allowed to include beans and pulses in moderation (max two portions per week), and the same for sweet potatoes. Despite their higher carb content, they are still a nutritious addition to a candida diet in moderation. However, if you are struggling with digestive symptoms then it would make sense to avoid beans and pulses entirely for at least the first couple of months of the diet while you heal before reintroducing them to test your tolerance. This is the advice I was given, but ultimately you should always seek the advice of your doctor or naturopath if you are unsure. I hope that helps!
